Hospitals to reap $6 billion – 2014 ACA

The NYT reports today that hospitals will reap $6 billion in previously uncompensated care.

The AHA reports that 2013 uncompensated care amounted to $45.9 billion, or 6.1% of total billings. So the revenue gained is 13% of uncompensated care, but that’s only about 1% of total hospital billings… It’s a beginning.
